Celebrating 20 years of service

Pastor Simeon Corum
People know Pastor Simeon Corum as a devoted father and grandfather, a dedicated and faithful husband, a committed friend, a pastor, preacher, teacher, a worshiper, prayer warrior, but he is much more than that.
He was born in Washington, DC and attended the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC and majored in Communications and Psychology. He received an Honorary Doctorate from the Breakthrough Bible College in August 2013 and further his education with an Associate’s degree and a Master in Theology.
Pastor Simeon Corum was baptized and filled with the precious Holy Spirit in June 1982 at the age of 24 and served under the tutelage of the late Apostle C. L. Long for over 30 years. As he was faithful to the call of our Lord Jesus Christ, God made him a servant as a deacon, minister, elder and church administrator at the Scripture Cathedral, 810 “O” Street, N.W., Washington, DC.
As Pastor Simeon Corum grew up in the northwest, Washington, DC area, he was involved in the entertainment field which he witnessed drug-abuse, alcoholism, crime and juvenile delinquency that ran rampant in the area and needed a change for him and others around him. Seeing many of his peers destroyed by the “street violence,” guns and drugs, the destruction of sin has made him determine to submit to the life-changing power of the “Word of God” to the oppressed and down-trodden.
Pastor Simeon Corum was sent out to pastor with his lovely wife Joanne whom they been married for over 39 years with their three lovely children in Alexandria, VA in 2004, who then moved to the Maryland area at the Matthew Henson Elementary School where he pastored until 2006. That’s when he launched an event of “Bringing the Gospel to the Neighborhood” in 2006, which brought many souls to Jesus Christ. He published a book “The Ultimate Christian Portrayal.”
Pastor Simeon Corum is a passionate minister with a heart for souls. The Lord Jesus Christ has grace him to preach the gospel of good news to those who are lost, hurt and the broken hearted. He ministers with relentless faith that God will deliver the body of Christ and God’s love is ever present and working in their lives in all circumstances and situations. Pastor Simeon Corum realizes, having been snatched from the clutches of natural and spiritual death, he is persuaded that God uses circumstances and persecutions to reveal His plan of salvation, healing, deliverance, and blessings to the body of Christ.
Since Pastor Simeon Corum has submitted his will to God’s will, God has made him a shepherd over the parishioners of the Goshen Worship Center Church along with his family in Forestville, Maryland, where he is serving as the Senior Pastor. One of Pastor Simeon Corum favorite scriptures in the Bible found in Romans 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Vision and Goals
Joanne’s life-long vision is to build a senior citizen home(s). She has love and adoration for the elderly and wants to give them a place where their needs are met physically and spiritually, and that their hearts will flourish with God’s love. Joanne believes that the GWCC ministry has its focus on unity of souls and families, and she glories that day when all God’s people regardless of their race will experience the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ together in the beauty of holiness.
Joanne also has an overwhelming passion and desire to teach and to minister to the “hurting in the body of Christ”, Christians that have been wounded and broken, misunderstood and isolated in the house of God. She wants them to know that God has a secret place of security. A place of intimacy with him that protects and preserves us even as God uses the experiences of disappointment to prepare us for our call-in ministry. The Bible said, “He who dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…Because thou hast made the Lord, who is my refuge even the Most High thy habitation….” Psalm 91.
